Tetsuwan Atom and his ass bullets vs. the United States Armed Forces in Vietnam, from a charged moment in global history - as serialized in a Japanese daily newspaper.
(Astro Boy, Osamu Tezuka, c. 1967)

"Ah, Pluto"
I really love Tezuka’s intros in the Astro Boy comics. I want to do this for something some time— make a comic book version of myself and introduce a story.
I particularly like this intro to "The World’s Greatest Robot". That opening two page spread is so epic, talking about the story you are about to read in the past tense.

I just read Osamu Tezuka’s Barbara and I felt compelled to do a little fan art. I thought it was great! Tezuka is still my favorite. Click on the Osamu Tezuka tag to see my past Tezuka fan drawing.

I’m a huge Tezuka fan.
Here’s a little Black Jack fan sketch to start the day with.

I love Tezuka! He’s my favorite comic writer and he’d probably win first place for favorite writer/ artist. I’m re-reading MW right now and loving every bit of it. When I sit down with a Tezuka book I know I’m in for a ride that will take me in completely unexpected directions and that it will be exciting comics making.
