Here’s my cover for Astonishing X-Men #50.

"Okay, Gambit, raise your cards up. Little higher. That’s good. Now look off to the side like you see someone over there and you wanna kick their ass. Northstar, give me sexy! You’re the sexy leader of the team. Think Cyclops, only sexy. Oh, that’s good! Wolverine, perfect! Very fierce. Karma, I like the mind thingy your doing but could you just stand a little closer to Wolverine. Iceman, you’re good. No, don’t come any closer. Just stay back there. I don’t want your ice slide thing getting in the way of everything. Warbird… seriously, how much fashion tape are you wearing in that costume? Okay guys, I think we got it. I think that’s the one. The cover of next month’s Super People Standing There magazine."

Wolverine. I was thinking about Silvestri’s classic Uncanny X-Men #234 cover when I did this.

Cover for Astonishing X-Men #49

I say a little about this piece and some other things on my blog.

I was doing so good! Posting up a picture everyday here. Now my perfect record is ruined.

On New Year’s Eve I had to be rushed to the emergency room due to severe abdominal pain. I spent 4 days in the hospital. I’m home now minus my gallbladder. This sucks. I loved that gallbladder. I’m anxious to hit the drawing board again, but it might be a few days.

Here’s an Astonishing X-Men cover I recently did. If you’d like to know more about my ordeal click on over to my blog. You can also see the preliminary sketch for this X-Men piece.

When you want to draw two guys real big, standing close to one another, unobstructed, and with a city scape behind them, it becomes very hard when both those guys wear big flowing capes. Solution: have capes blowing up.
